Christopher Stead – Head Professional
Chris has been with the West Vancouver Tennis Club as its Head Pro since 1992. Before joining WVTC, Chris was a pro for 6 years at the Arbutus Club and 3 years at the Jericho Tennis Club. Chris is a Tennis Canada Certified Level 3 Provincial Coach. He brings a wealth of experience not only as a Club Pro but also as a High Performance Coach. Chris has over 15 years of experience as a Provincial Coach for Tennis BC, working with B.C.’s top players. As well, Chris worked for 2 years as a Tennis Canada National Touring Coach working with some of Canada’s top players. He has a passion for the game and is excited to share that with all the members at WVTC.
Kinuko Higashio – Associate Pro
Kinuko joined the coaching staff at WVTC 6 years ago. She is a Tennis Canada Certified Club Pro Level 1. Kinuko does wonders with our young juniors and as well with our league players and adult programs. Kinuko has also an accomplished playing background. She owns 3 National Titles and has represented Canada at numerous World Tennis Team Events. She is eager to share her experience with everyone.
Kamil Pajkowski – High Performance Coach
Kamil started at the West Vancouver Tennis Club as one of Chris’ protege students at the age of 12. He began as a junior member and continued to train here through his junior years. After an accomplished junior career he attended the University of New Mexico on a tennis scholarship and had a very successful college career ranking as one of the top doubles players in the NCAA. After university Kamil returned to our club to once again train and to start his professional playing career. Kamil is currently ranked number 342 in the World Doubles Ranking and climbing. We are fortunate that when he is not traveling the world playing tournamanets he is working at our club as the HIgh Performance Coach passing on his very valuable experience to our members.
Nathan Ma – Junior Assistant
Nathan started at WVTC also as one of our talented junior players. He competed well in provincial events and went on to play for the University of British Columbia tennis team. As Nathan approached his mid-terms he worked as a volunteer coach with our young juniors and has done amazing work, and is now a Tennis Canada Certified Instructor working with our junior and adult players.
